Following the sudden terminal illness of one of our classmates, close friend and former lecturer Dr. Muralidharan Chandran, few of our classmates had a serious discussion about how to raise such a big amount for his treatment and they managed to raise money by contacting all our class mates and it made them wonder, if we can help our friend why can't we help and reach out the poorly people who can't afford to even for their basic needs. Unfortunately our friend lost his battle. The loss made us ponder that we ought to have done it better. Thus SEED was born.
Our trust was officially formed and registered on 2nd of December 2015 and the registration number is 217/2015. Our trustees were officially selected unanimously by our group members that show the strong bond between our members.
To provide assistance, care and support to the needy people affected with non-communicable diseases (NCD) with the life threatening sequel, who can’t afford for the treatment.

❖ To provide all possible periodical free screening of NCDs poor vulnerable group of our society to get early diagnosis and pave way for earlier intervention
❖ To provide various medical services such as consultations, advice, medicines, organising health awareness and charity camps, medical and blood donation camps
❖ Conduct surveys to find out the most affected areas of NCDs and organise specific medical camps with allopathy and other systems of medicine to provide effective treatment and follow ups as well
❖ To organise conferences, workshops, lectures, seminars and exhibitions of Siddha system of medicine
❖ Organise healthy food festivals, melas and yoga classes in schools and colleges.
Dr. Ponnambalam is a hardworking, easily approachable, flexible, charismatic, sociable person who will go extra length to help the people in need. He is one of the active persons to form this trust. He has organised our 87 batch meet twice successfully.
He has graduated from Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai during the academic year 1987-1993. He has been doing private practice in the district of Tirunelveli for the past 22 years. He is a specialist in treating skin disorders, kidney stones and asthma. His hobbies are listening music, writing Tamil poems, travelling and his main interest is taking SEED trust to reach across the community especially rural places.
His wife V.Ram Prabha is an engineering professional working as an assistant professor in a private engineering college in Tirunelveli district. He is blessed with two children, a son and a daughter.
Dr. GRS is a kind, soft spoken, people person with excellent communication skills and caring nature. He has an extensive knowledge of English language and his classmates were mesmerised by the way he conducted an hour long teaching session during final year of our basic degree.
He studied basic degree of Siddha at Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai during 1987-1993 and he has also completed post-graduation in Siddha medicine in 1997. Dr.GRS is also a visiting consultant treating male infertility and other chronic ailments at a private hospital in Chennai.
His wife Dr. Vanitha also belongs to the same profession and a post graduate from the very same college. They are blessed with two children, a son and a daughter. Both of them are successfully practising Siddha medicine together in Tirunelveli and their main specialty is treating infertility, respiratory disorders and problems pertaining to lifestyle disorders. Dr.GRS always finds time to run our trust related works amidst his busy schedule.
Dr. Bala is a sporty fitness person who gives importance for fitness healthy regime. He is a very charismatic, charming, humorous blogger with excellent IT knowledge.
He has completed his B.S.M.S. degree in 1993 at Govt. Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai and he successfully runs his private clinic in Kadayanallor. He also worked as a Siddha consultant for 2 years in Govt. primary health centre, Villupuram district. Dr Bala’s main interest is Tamil literature and he was famous for Tamil poetry writings during college days. He won the championship for men’s doubles in three districts badminton tournament which was held at Sankarakovil in 2013. During his spare time, he plays badminton and painting portraits. His wife Dr. R. Ramadevi is an assistant surgeon in Govt. PHC at Elathur. They are blessed with twin children.
Dr. Geetha is an organised, calm, composed, flexible individual with excellent managerial skills and caring nature. She has graduated from Government Siddha Medical College, Palayamkottai during the academic year 1987-1993. She has also done medical transcription and worked in Ramco group of companies for a period of 6 months. She has done M.C.A in Madurai Kamaraj University and also worked as an assistant Siddha medical officer in S.K.M. Siddha Hospital, Chennai.
Dr. Geetha has been successfully practicing siddha medicine for the past 12 years and also working as honorarium Siddha Consultant, AYUSH, Southern Railways, Chennai. She specialises in treatment of psoriasis, renal calculi, arthritis and infertility.
Her husband Dr.B. Chandrasekaran is working as an automobile engineer for a private concern. She has two children, of which her daughter is pursuing second year M.B.B.S at Govt. Stanley Medical College, Chennai and her son is doing his eighth grade.
Dr. Bharathi is a spiritual, kind, caring prominent Siddha doctor who specialises in infertility management. She came from a rural area in Salem district and pursued her B.S.M.S in Palayamkottai Govt. Siddha Medical College from 1987-1993. Dr. Bharathi successfully completed Ph.D. in "Female infertility and the evaluation of Poorna Chandhroya Chendhuram as treatment” in 2008 and she presented her thesis in various national and international conferences.
We are very proud to say that she was the first doctor from her village. She joined the premises of SKM health & mind welfare charity trust where she was an activate member till 2008 and now she is successfully running a private clinic called as AGATHIYAR Siddha clinic. During college days she was a member in Tamil Ilakia cholai and Rotaract Club. Her husband Mr. P. Paramasivan is a senior professor in sky yoga. They are blessed with a daughter who is studying 10th standard.
